ABOUT VALLEY VIEW HIGH SCHOOL

Valley View High School is a continuation high school that serves the 8 comprehensive high schools in the Chaffey Joint Union High school District, and is located on Sixth Street near the corner of Vineyard Avenue in Ontario.

The main building, first occupied in 1973, includes thirteen classrooms, the administration office, the career center, and the counseling office.  Eight portable classrooms have been added to provide additional classroom space.  Additionally, Valley View has a multipurpose room that is used for meetings, assemblies, testing large groups, and district professional development meetings.

The school offers a computer-based instructional program.  All classrooms have a full set of computers for student use for online learning opportunities, which allows students to work at an accelerated pace to make up credit.  Students are able to increase credit earning by working at home, and have the opportunity to return to their home schools after making up the needed credit.

Students are referred to Valley View by the counselors at their home school following a guidance meeting with the student, counselor, and parents.  Students attend 6 class periods of 59 minutes each.  They have 5 minute passing periods and a 30 minute lunch period.  Approximately 450 students attend Valley View High School.
